The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) yesterday held a protest over the Government’s decision to ban cut outs in public places.
JVP Propaganda Secretary and DNA parliamentarian Vijitha Herath told the media that the protest was held by people holding cutouts against the Government’s decision at different points in the Piliyandala town. He said the Police did not allow the party to paste posters or put up cutouts claiming they pollute the environment. Therefore, Herath said the party decided to launch this unique protest campaign where people would stand at various places holding placards, conveying the message expected to be delivered through cutouts.
