Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj arrived in the island yesterday in preparation for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit later this month.
During her two-day visit Swaraj is expected to meet President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera and other Government officials while holding discussions on arrangements for the Indian PM’s visit.
Modi is expected to arrive in Sri Lanka on 13 March on a three-day official tour.
