Indian High Commissioner Y.K.Sinha is scheduled to declare open an ‘India Corner’ at the Jaffna Library today as part of a scheduled visit to the Northern Province today.
The High Commissioner will be joined by Northern Province Governor H. M. G. S. Palihakara and the NPC Chief Minister C. V. Vigneswaran at the ceremony scheduled to take place at 9.30am today.
He is to take part in four opening ceremonies during his tour in the North. At 11.15am, Sinha will ceremoniously open the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Aagriculture at the Kilinochi Campus of the Jaffna University; NPC Governor and Jaffna University Vice Chancellor Vasnthy Arasaratnam will also attend this event. At 2.00 p.m, the Indian High Commissioner will declare open a 200-bed ward at the Vavuniya hospital. Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne and NPC Health Minister P. Sathyalingam will also be present at this event.
