The Sri Lanka Navy, in accordance with naval traditions, welcomed an Indian Coast Guard ship arrived at the Port of Colombo on Thursday.
Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Samarth’ arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit Thursday (18), the Navy said.
The Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain Anand Prakash Badola called on the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva at the Western Naval Command Headquarters in Colombo and held cordial discussions. Mementos were also exchanged to signify the occasion.
The Indian Coast Guard’s latest and largest Offshore Patrol Vessel, ICGS Samarth is scheduled to leave Sri Lanka on 20 August.
During her stay the crew of the ship will take part in a number of events including a friendly volleyball match organised by the Sri Lanka Navy.
