Hospitals across the country have been placed on alert to contain the spread of the A H1N1 virus.
Acting Health Services Director General Jayasundara Bandara visited the Kandy General hospital after two deaths were reported in the hospital.
He said that 12 patients at the Kandy hospital were suspected of having the A H1N1 virus and this had led to fear spreading in the area.
The acting Health Services Director General said that all hospitals had been placed on alert to ensure the virus did not spread. (Colombo Gazette)
