Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Harsha de Silva delivered a keynote address on the topic “India-Sri Lanka cooperation in the South Asian Littorals” on 20th April at the “Oceans Dialogue- 2017” a conference on ocean governance and littorals security held in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The conference was organized by the Observer Research Foundation, a Think Tank based in New Delhi in association with the Government of Netherlands, the World Oceans’ Council, and other maritime organizations. In his speech the Deputy Minister addressed Sri Lanka’s multi faceted and close relations with India and how Sri Lanka should utilize the huge opportunities presented by India’s growth and geographical proximity to India. He also described Sri Lanka’s engagement with some of the other key strategic partners in the Indian Ocean.
