Cabinet has approved a proposal made by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to instruct the Secretary to the Ministry of Defense to appoint a committee to look into allegations of political victimisation in the Tri Forces since 2010 and present recommendations to provide necessary concessions. Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Rajitha Senaratna said the probe was in line with a pledge made in the 100-day program of President Maithripala Sirisena’s Government to restore the rights of officers of the Sri Lanka Army who were subject to political revenge and punishment.
