The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) yesterday said it would take legal action against MP Chathura Senaratne, son of Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, after he made allegedly defamatory remarks about the organisation at a media briefing this week.
Issuing a press release, GMOA Secretary Dr. Nalinda Herath stated the GMOA Central Committee had decided to take action against MP Senaratne, because his statements had tarnished the image of all doctors in the GMOA.
The GMOA also hopes to lodge a complaint before Speaker Karu Jayasuriya regarding the allegation. (CG)
