An incident of a train engine automatically starting and travelling about 12 kilometres without the driver was reported from Sri Lanka. The runaway train engine, which was docked at the Railway Yard in Dematagoda has started automatically in the pre-dawn hours of Thursday and proceeded without a driver on the southern railway track. However, the train engine was stopped in between Ratmalana and Mount Lavinia, local media reported. No one was hurt in the incident, the authorities said. The runway engine is at the Ratmalana station now. Meanwhile, the railway authorities have suspended the driver and the assistant of the runaway engine with immediate effect.
