German Foreign Ministry Head for Asia-Pacific Political Affairs Dr. Cyrill Nunn conducted a two day visit to Sri Lanka from 16 to 17 February where he met with key Government ministers, officials, opposition leaders, civil society representatives and members of the business community.
Ambassador Nunn met with External Affairs Minister G.L Pieris, President’s special envoy on Human Rights Mahinda Samarasinghe and opposition leader Ranil Wickramasinghe.
He also visited Jaffna to understand the progress made in post-war development efforts and met with Acting Commander of the Security Forces Headquarters Brigadier A. P. De Z Wickramaratne and GA Imelda Sukumaran among others.
“The need for a political solution acceptable to the people of Sri Lanka, continues to be a focal point in German Sri Lankan bilateral relations.” said Ambassador Nunn during his meetings both in Colombo and Jaffna.
