The Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) has summoned former Treasury Secretary P. B. Jayasundera to appear before it on 10 June.
PRECIFAC expects to record a statement from Jayasundera regarding an allegation on issuing approval to release Rs. 130 million from Maga Neguma funds to pay the domestic air travel charges of former Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
The commission during investigations found that public funds were used to cover outstanding bills of Rajapaksa’s domestic flights.
