Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera left yesterday for a two day visit to China in a bid to strengthen relations.
“The expectation of this visit is to strengthen relations,” Policy Planning and Economic Affairs Deputy Minister Harsha de Silva told Xinhua ahead of the visit.
President Maithripala Sirisena is to visit China in March, officials said.
