First Lady on an official visit to Uganda

First Lady Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa has arrived in Uganda for a four-day official visit on an invitation extended by First Lady of Uganda Janet Museveni. Ugandan Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development Mary Karooro Okurut has welcomed the Sri Lankan First Lady on arrival at the Entebbe International Airport. Uganda’s High Commissioner to Sri-Lanka and India, Elizabeth Paula Napeyok and the High Commissioner of Sri-Lanka to Uganda Velupillai Kananathan Also at the airport to receive the visiting First Lady. The First Lady was accompanied by an 18-member delagation that includes the Director General Africa Division in Ministry of External Affairs Aruni Ranaraja, Ugandan daily, New Vision reported.Shiranthi Rajapaksa together with her Ugandan counterpart Museveni will visit Masuliita Children’s Home in Wakiso District today to lay a foundation stone and unveil the Plan for the construction of Masuliita Vocational Training Institute. She will also inspect a medical camp by a team from Sri Lanka for the children and community of Masuliita.
