The annual concert of the Naval Pre-school at the Naval Dockyard in Trincomalee was held on 24th November 2012. First Lady Madam Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksha graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage, President of the Navy Sewa Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Srima Colombage and senior naval officers from the Eastern Naval Command, sailors and parents of the students were also present on the occasion. Wife of the Korean ambassador, Madam Park Soon Jue also grace the occasion as the special guest.
The fun-filled concert presented by the students captivated the audience and their entertainment acts showcased their talents winning the hearts of all that were present. They were showered with praise for presenting such a wonderful concert. First Lady and Commander of the Navy distributed the presents among the young ones.
The Naval Pre-School is run by the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit for the benefit of the children of naval personnel. The school provides educational instructions in both Sinhala and English mediums to children who are aged between 3 and 5. A Day Care Centre also functions attached to the pre-school providing care to the young children.
