The Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) yesterday recorded a statement from the Chairman of the controversial Avant-Garde Security Services, Nissanka Senadhipathi.
Avant Garde Maritime Services came into the limelight after a floating armoury was discovered at Galle Habour in January. Senadhipathi was reportedly questioned in connection with the transference of funds from a bank account belonging to the company to another account.
According to police sources, Senadhipathi arrived at the FCID office at around 1.30 p.m. yesterday and was questioned for two and a half hours.
A case pertaining to Avant-Garde Security Services is being heard at the Colombo Magistrate’s Court while the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is conducting investigations over the floating armoury in Galle and the armoury at the BMICH.
