Enjoining order against Automobile Association

 The Colombo District Court yesterday issued enjoining order against the Automobile Association and its President Dammika Attygalle.

District Court Judge Ganepola issued the Enjoining Order restraining the Defendants from giving effect to the purported letter of suspension of its Vice President and Past President E.N Rajah Sinnathurai valid till 10 May.

Farman Cassim with Charaka Jayaratne instructed by Integrated Associates appeared for the Plaintiff  Rajah Sinnathurai who in his plaint stated that to the best interest of the said Association together with some members of the executive committee, questioned the legality of leasing out a liquor license to a night club at the premises of the said Association.

Plaintiff also stated that he was appointed and headed a sub-committee to look into the alleged irregularities of the tender procedure and purchase of a car carrier for the said Association.

He complained that to his surprise, he received a letter dated 16 April suspending his membership on the purported complaints and other allegations from an executive staff and an employee of the said Association.
