The Disaster Management Centre says that investigations will be held into cases of alleged arson and arsonists who set fire to forest reserves.

Information on individuals involved in activity suspected to be arson, can be provided to the centre, via telephone on 011-2670002.  The Deputy Director of the Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippili said the line would be open 24 hours a day. Thousands of acres of protected forest land were destroyed by recent blazes that broke out in Badulla and Nuwara Eliya.
