Devapriya takes over Warnasinghe’s portfolios

All the portfolios held by the Western Provincial Councillor Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe have been taken over by the Western Province Chief Minister Isura Devapriya yesterday following the defeat of the Budget submitted by Warnasinghe. 

Thereafter Devapriya would be the Health Minister of the Provincial Council subjects including Indigenous Medicine, Social Welfare, Probation and Child Care, Women’s Affairs and Provincial Council Affairs.

The 2016 budgetary allocations for the Western Province Health Ministry submitted by the Warnasinghe was defeated by 22 votes on 22 December and  45 members voted against while only 23 voted in favour.
