Defence Secy. orders special security to all mosques

Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa last evening ordered security officials to give special security during the night to all mosques in the country during the holy month of Ramadan, with effect from yesterday.

He gave this order when he met representatives of the All Ceylon Jamiyathul Ullama (ACJU) led by M.Mubarak Moulavi and the Muslim Council of Sri Lanka (MCSL) led by N. M. Ameen at the Defence Ministry.

Meanwhile, the Defence Secretary is to meet the representatives of ACJU and Mosque federations in Ampara, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Kurunegala, Kandy and Puttalam today.
