Dayananda Vidanagamachchi has been appointed as the Acting Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) as well as one of its Directors, by Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premajayantha.
The Petroleum Ministry in a statement said that the appointment was made effective from 24 February.
Vidanagamachchi was also named as the replacement to Wasantha Ekanayake, who served as a Director and Acting Chairman of the CPC, by the Treasury.
Ekanayake was reportedly removed after he fired letters to Sri Lankan Airlines, Mihin Lanka and CEB to urgently settle long outstanding dues to CPC on account of supplies provided.
