The Colombo Fort Magistrate yesterday sent a reminder to the Attorney General to expedite his advice on the case pertaining to the attack on the MBC/MTV head office.
When the case pertaining to the attack on the MBC/MTV head office at Braybrooke place came up before Colombo Fort Magistrate Kanishka Wijeratne, the Slave Island police informed Court that the extract of the investigation notes had already been forwarded to the Attorney General. Thirteen of the 16 suspects who were arrested in connection with the attack were present in Court yesterday. Accordingly, the Magistrate issued an arrest warrant on ninth and sixteenth suspects as they were not present in Court.
On 22 March a group of people had allegedly attacked the MBC/MTV at Braybrooke Place, Colombo and 16 suspects were arrested and later released on bail. Further magisterial inquiry into the matter was postponed for 9 July.
