A court has refused to grant an enjoining order preventing the main opposition United National Party (UNP) from holding a disciplinary inquiry against the party’s former Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya.
Nugegoda District Judge Champa Janaki Rajaratna has refused to issue the enjoining order requested by Jayasuriya.
The judge has made this order after considering a petition filed by Jayasuriya requesting for an enjoining order preventing the UNP disciplinary committee from holding an inquiry against him.
The UNP disciplinary committee has called on Jayasuriya for an explanation for commenting on the four-member committee headed by lawyer Srinath Perera that probed the attack on the party headquarters, Sirikotha last year during the election for office bearers.
