Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) is launching a signature seminar series focusing on Sri Lanka and its foreign relations in the 21st Century. The first of these seminars, “The Future of Economic Cooperation; Sri Lanka at a Crossroads,” is to be held on Thursday, 17 November 2016, from 8.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at the BCIS auditorium, BMICH, Colombo 7.
The Seminar Series highlights BCIS’ contribution as an international relations think-tank and an academic institute, functioning both as a venue and forum for disseminating knowledge related to International Studies in which Sri Lankan perspectives on international issues could be brought to public attention, be discussed and debated.
The following prominent Sri Lankan economists are to be resource persons at this seminar. The Keynote Speaker will be Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka
Dr. W. A. Wijewardena. Also present are Bandaranaike National Memorial Foundation (BNMF) Board Member Arjuna Herath, Department of Commerce Director General Sonali Wijerathne, Employers Federation of Ceylon Director General/Chief Executive Officer Kanishka Weerasinghe, Colombo University Senior Lecturer Department of Economics Chandana Aluthge, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Intelligence Unit Chief Economist and Head Anushka Wijesinha and Hayleys Group Senior Economist Deshal de Mel.
