The Bodu Bala Sena organisation yesterday marched to the Indian High Commission in Colombo to hand over a message for Indian Premier Manmohan Singh, demanding that New Delhi stops intervening in Sri Lanka’s internal affairs.
BBS General Secretary Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero said about 1000 Buddhist monks had engaged in a peaceful march to the Indian High Commission on Galle Road.
“We handed over a petition to the Indian High Commission containing a message to the Indian Prime Minister,” he said.
“India’s intervention is damaging to Sri Lanka’s sovereignty. The Indo-Lanka accord of 1987 nourished Tamil Separatists,” he said.
The BBS General Secretary accused India of having armed and funded the LTTE for 30 years.
