An ASP and police sergeant attached to the President’s Security Division, who were on duty during a meeting of President Maithripala Sirisena’s in Agunukolapelassa on 25 April, have been interdicted.
They were interdicted following investigations conducted into the incident where a former PSD officer brought a firearm to the President’s meeting.
The police stated that the CID previously conducted an investigation to find out if security laws had been breached.
Meanwhile, the army corporal who brought a firearm to a meeting attended by the President has been remanded until 19 May.
