The service of Sri Lanka Army Commander Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva has been extended by another year.
President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has extended the Army Commander’s service, Military Spokesman Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera confirmed.
Major General Crishanthe De Silva was appointed as the 21st Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, effective from 22 February 2015 on a directive by the President.
De Silva joined the Sri Lanka Army as a cadet officer in 1980.
