All Ceylon YMMA holds 61st Annual Convention

The All Ceylon YMMA Conference held its 61st Annual Convention at the Institute of Chartered Accountants  of Sri Lanka Auditorium, Colombo recently. The YMMA recognised two personalities of the year for their valuable services rendered to the community and the country.

They are Philanthropist  Al Haj Illyas Abdul Kareem  and former director SLBC Muslim Service Al Haj Moulavi Z.L.M. Mohamed. The chief guest of the ceremony Justice Minister Rauff Hakeem distributed the awards.

The YMMA also gives away various awards to YMMA branches for specialised projects carried out during the year and presented the following awards.

Religious Award – Ahadiyya School YMMA Hulftsdorf  

Best Pre – School Award – YMMA Madawala

Health  Project Eye Camp Award — YMMA Central 

Best Project  Award – YMMA Paragahakotuwa

Best Treasurer Award – YMMA Bandarawela

Best  Secretary Award – YMMA Wattegedera

Best President Award – YMMA Badulla

Most Outstanding upcoming Youth Leader Award – YMMA Wattegedera

Most Outstanding Member YMMA — Wattegedera

The guest of honour President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka President’s Counsel Shibly Aziz officially launched the YMMA web site and released the official News Letter “Shubban”,the first copy of the News Letter presented  to Shibly Aziz by Editor of the Publication Ashroff Rumi.

National President of the YMMA Attorney at Law Nadvi Bahudeen delivered the welcome address.

Senior Minister A.H.M. Fowzie, former Minister of Trade and Commerce A.R.M. Munsoor, A.H.M. Azwer MP, Board of Trustees Chairman A.L.M. Sabir, Patron Cader M. Ali and other members were present.
