The All Ceylon YMMA Conference held its 65th Annual Convention at the University Grants Commission Auditorium, Colombo recently, under the patronage of President of the Association M.T. Thahassim.
Thahassim presented a memento to the chief guest of the ceremony Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, who expressed appreciation of the YMMA activities for the past 65 years.
YMMA honoured two Attorneys at Law Maithri Guneratne and Shiraz Noordeen for their contribution in defending the rights of Muslims against the disturbance caused to their places of religious worship. Minister Senaratne presented mementos to Guneratne and Noordeen.
The All Ceylon YMMA Conference presented awards to the members of YMMA for their religious, sports, education, health and pre-school activities.
Minister of Disaster Management A.H.M. Fowzie, Minister of Urban Development and Water Supply Rauff Hakeem, US Embassy Political Officer Teresa Tellechea, Past Presidents, representatives of Muslim organisations and members of the YWMA were also present at this event.
