Administrative Service (SLAS) is to recruit 294 new administrative officials from the beginning of the next year, the Secretary of the Ministry of State Administration and Domestic Affairs P.B. Abeykoon said.
The official said the new recruitments would be based on the competitive examination held last April.
The SLAS has elected 258 administrative officers through the open examination while 36 have been selected from among those in the service.
The interviews have also been held now to select the administrative officials, the official said. The Public Service Commission has to approve the appointments before they are granted.
The SLAS is the key administrative service of the government, with civil servants working for both in the central government as well as in the provincial councils.
