A suspect in the assassination of former Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar has died in hospital.
The 62-year-old suspect, who was in remand custody since 2012, over the assassination of the former Foreign Minister has died while receiving treatment at the National Hospital, the Prison department said. The former member of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) had been charged at the Colombo High Court under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
Former Sri Lanka Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar was assassinated by a LTTE sniper gunman at his residence in Colombo 07 on August 12, 2005.
