State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene, in a meeting with Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Korea Song Young-mooon held in Seoul this week, discussed issues of mutual interest related to cooperation in the field of defence. The Ministers also welcomed the consolidation of bilateral relations in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
State Minister Wijewardene was in the Republic of Korea from 16 to 18 October on the invitation of the Korean Minister of National Defence to participate in the Seoul International Aerospace and Defence Exhibition 2017 (Seoul ADEX 2017).
Wijewardene was accompanied on the visit by Air Vice Marshal M. D. A. P. Payoe and staff of the Ministry of Defence. Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Manisha Gunasekera and staff of the Embassy were associated with the visit.
