State Minister Dayasiri undergoing treatment for COVID-19

State Minister of Batik, Handloom and Local Apparel Products Dayasiri Jayasekara is among the COVID-19 patients detected in the island and is currently undergoing treatment in Hikkaduwa.

On a post published yesterday on his official Facebook page, the State Minister said he voluntarily got tested given the spread of COVID-19 in the country. He went on to wish a speedy recovery to all those who have contracted the virus.

Jayasekara got tested after being unwell for a few days.

Meanwhile, Samagi Jana Balawegaya Member of Parliament Harin Fernando yesterday tweeted that he tested negative for COVID-19. “I did a PCR voluntarily as I had met State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara 12 days ago,” Fernando said, while wishing Jayasekara a speedy recovery.
