SriLankan Airlines yesterday said several aircraft were put out of action at the same time by a dust storm and a diversion triggering delays in its schedule.SriLankan said an aircraft returning from Kuwait was caught in a dust storm, requiring engineering work, and another flight from the Middle East had to be diverted to Cochin after a passenger suddenly fell sick, when technical problems at two other aircraft were being resolved. As a result, flights to Melbourne, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok had been delayed. SriLankan apologised for the delays and said passengers had been served meals or put up at hotels.
