Sri Lanka, India hold seventh Naval Staff talks in Colombo

The seventh round of the Navy to Navy Staff Talks between the Sri Lankan and Indian Navies concluded on a successful note on Wednesday, 7 February. 

The local delegation led by Director General Operations Rear Admiral Piyal de Silva sat for the discussion with the Indian Naval delegation led by Rear Admiral Diren Vig at the Light House Galley in Colombo.

According to Navy media, the staff interaction between the two neighbouring navies saw the two sides exchange views on a range of defence matters of bilateral importance during the course of the conclave. Representatives of both sides were also interested in exchanging views on mutual cooperation in the maritime affairs expanded in the Indian Ocean.

Meanwhile, the visiting head of the Indian delegation Rear Admiral Diren Vig also made a courtesy call on the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy Rear Admiral Neil Rosayro at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo on the same day.
