There is a high response rate for the island-wide survey on identifying the issues regarding the field of beauty-culture done by the Policy Development Office (PDO) of the Prime Minister’s Office. The PDO is already working towards to provide solutions for the certain recognised problems from the above survey and has received a number of opinions and suggestions from the entrepreneurs about the difficulties confronted by them, and the steps that should be taken in order to develop and improve the business.

The PDO is still receiving the data and analysing process is yet to be concluded. So far, two main issues have been identified from the available data, namely: not having convenient places to locate their beauty salons, and lack of capital to develop and improve them. To provide solutions for these problems, the PDO is already consulting Divisional Secretaries and Local Government Officials and is working towards the solutions. The PDO has commenced discussions with the Central Bank in order to resolve the issue of lack of capital.

The PDO highly appreciates the feedback of entrepreneurs and requests all others who are interested to communicate their ideas. The field of beauty culture has been recognised as an accomplished self-esteemed profession. This project focuses on creating beauty salons with high standards and modern technology, and generating successful young entrepreneurs in a high quality beauty culture sector in future Sri Lanka.
