Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 15,218 after health officials confirmed seven more COVID-19 fatalities on Sunday.
Five persons over 60 years and two persons between 30 and 59 years were among the fatalities confirmed on Sunday. Zero deaths were confirmed from the under-30 age group on Sunday.
The Epidemiology Unit states that 76.27% of the total fatalities are over 60 years, 22.54% are between 30 and 59 years, and 1.2% are below 30 years.
Of the total COVID-19 death toll, 8,543 are male and 6,675 are female.
Five fatalities confirmed on Sunday were male and two were female.
