The United National Party (UNP) Deputy Leader and Housing Minister Sajith Premadasa yesterday requested former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake, as well as other ex-members, to re-join the party, saying that any issues can be resolved through discussion.

Issuing a statement, Premadasa called on all those who had left the UNP to re-unite and engage in activities to develop the country.
“I am aware that several individuals who had earlier distanced themselves from the party due to conflicting opinions are hoping to take part in efforts that will be favourable to the country,” he said. He pointed out that disagreements can be resolved through discussion, and that should not be a reason to side-line themselves from the party or leave it.
“I request all Provincial Council members, Local Government members who distanced themselves from the UNP to join hands with me.”
