The symbolic sacred monument of a stone carved from where Seetha was kept in captive by Ravana was handed over to Chief Priest of Sri Ram Mandir, Shthendradas by High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda this week at Ayodhya.
Ram Mandir is a Hindu temple that is being built in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India, at the site of Ram Janmabhoomi, the hypothesised birthplace of Rama, a principal deity of Hinduism. On request of Prime Mi n i s t e r of I n d i a Narendra Modi from the Government of Sri Lanka this symbolic sacred monument was collected by Member of Parliament V. Ra d h a k r i s h n a n , Trustee – Seetha Amman Temple, Nuwara Eliya, S . S u n d a r a l i n g a m , Trustee – Mayurapathi Amman Temple, Mayura Place, Colombo 6 and E. Muthukrishnan, a leading businessman in Colombo, in the presence of High Commissioner of India in Sri Lanka Gopal Baglay at the function held at Mayurapathi Amman Temple 1.
