The Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) has decided to boycott the discussion that will be held today (22) with the Presidential Committee headed by Deputy Minister Harsha De Silva.
“We had our last discussions with the Presidential Committee on September 6 and we did not come into agreement with certain points put forward by the committee. However, certain points that we opposed have been included in the committee report fraudulently” said the SLMC. The SLMC Management had decided to boycott discussions with the Presidential Committee until the SLMC hold a discussion regarding the issue that occurred during last committee meeting.
The parties including the Attorney General’s Department, Sri Lanka Medical Council, Higher Education Ministry and the Health Ministry have been summoned for today’s meeting.
However, the Deputy Minister had been informed about SLMC’s absence for the meeting in written format, a representative of SLMC stated.
