SLCJF holds Bodhi Pooja to invoke blessing against coronavirus

A Bodhi Pooja was held at Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo recently to seek protection from the new Coronavirus infection spreading across the world. Gangaramaya resident monk Ven. Dr Kirinde Assaji Thera and other prelates invoked blessings and conducted religious observances.

The event was organized by the Sri Lanka Chinese Journalists’ Forum, a pioneering forum of journalists working towards enhancing the bilateral relationship between Sri Lanka and China.

Talking to media after the event, Sri Lanka Chinese Journalists’ Forum Nalin Aponso emphasized, “China has always been a source of strength to Sri Lanka in the event of severe natural and manmade disasters such as tsunamis, floods, landslides, fears of war, and terrorist bombings.”

Therefore, “We believe it is our time to be with China at this difficult time facing due to the outbreak of coronavirus,” he added.   

Western Province Governor Seetha Arambepola, Member of Parliament and Pivituru Hela Urumaya leader Udaya Gammanpila, People’s Republic of China Embassy Cultural Counsellor Liu Dong, members of the Sri Lanka-China Journalists Forum, and local communities participated in this event.
