The Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of Dominica have decided to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries, effective from 17 April.

This was following the signing of the agreement by United Nations Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka Dr. Amrith Rohan Perera, and United Nations Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Dominica Loreen Ruth Bannis-Roberts on Tuesday (17 April) in New York, U.S.A.

“The establishment of diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and Dominica would enhance the existing friendly relations and cooperation in the political, socio-economic and cultural fields for the mutual benefit of the two countries,” Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
