The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) will finalise the party’s national list by tomorrow (12 August), amid reports that the party has finalised five of the seven national list seats which they won in last week’s General Elections.
SJB National Campaign Organiser Eran Wickramaratne yesterday told Daily FT said that the party will finalise their national list by tomorrow. Wickramaratne’s comments come after the Election Commission informed all parties to submit national lists by yesterday. Five persons, including Harin Fernando and Eran Wickramaratne have been already finalised, SJB sources told the Daily FT.

SJB member and Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) Leader Mano Ganesan took to Twitter yesterday, stating that the discussion between the SJB and its partners on sharing the SJB national list will not lead to any division in the coalition.
“We will make sure that discussion between leaders of SJB & partner parties on the subject of sharing SJB national list nominations will not lead to any division within SJB. #lka” Ganesan tweeted. Ganesan had previously said that TPA, the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) led by Rauff Hakeem and All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) are in talks regarding the national list.
“Leaders of coalition parties those formed SJB with UNP (SP) I.E., TPA, SLMC, ACMC will be meeting SJB leader SP in the next hours to finalise SJB national list nominations. #lka” Ganesan tweeted.
Daily FT learned that negotiations are ongoing between coalition partners of the SJB, which each party trying to secure a national list seat for one of their nominees.
