The Supreme Court yesterday directed the Attorney General to file Rule (Charge) against Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake within a month, on the alleged offence of Contempt of Court.
The Bench, comprising Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya, Justices Vijith K. Malalgoda, and Murdu N.B. Fernando, fixed the matter for 30 July.
President’s Counsel Faiszer Musthapha appeared for Ranjan Ramanayake. Senior Additional Solicitor General Sanjay Rajaratnam appeared for the Attorney General.
