The Uttareethara Sanga Consultant Sabawa for the Sri Lankan High Commissioner for India has requested the Maha Sangha to recite the ‘Rathana Sutta’ in every temple in the country on Saturday 1 May with minimum participants for the benefit of the affected Indian citizens, all the people in the world and all Sri Lankans in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Issuing a press release, the Uttareethara Sanga Consultant Sabawa, including Ven. Dr. Niyangoda Wijithasiri Anunayaka Thero, said that not only our neighbour country but the entire world was facing a severe crisis due to the epidemic. In such a backdrop, the ‘Rathana Sutta’ is being chanted at many temples in the island, wishing all the people of the world protection from the COVID-19.
