Education Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris yesterday announced that reopening of universities has been postponed by two weeks, as a precautionary measure on the current COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
“The decision was reached after taking into account the directives of the Health Services Director General,” he said in the Parliament.
Universities islandwide were scheduled to resume academic activities on 27 April.
Vice Chancellors have been instructed to reopen universities in two weeks, due to the COVID-19 situation prevailing in the country.
