UNP Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake, who is in remand custody, was produced before the Government Analyst Department yesterday to obtain samples of his voice for analysis as ordered by court.
He was brought to the Government Analyst’s Department in Pelawatta, Battaramulla at around 10:30 a.m. last morning and was at the location till around noon.
Nugegoda Additional Magistrate H. U. K. Pelpola recently ordered Ramanayake to undergo a voice test to be conducted by the Government Analyst to authenticate his controversial audio recordings of telephone conversations he had with several high-profile Government officials including judges and politicians.
MP Ramanayake was arrested and remanded on charges of violating the Constitution by interfering in the affairs of the Judiciary. He is currently in remand custody until 12 February.
