Rajitha out on bail

Former Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne who was in remand custody, was granted bail by Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage yesterday.

Dr. Senaratne was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) following an investigation in to a controversial press conference on enforced disappearances and alleged “White Van abductions” organised by the then-Health Minister, days prior to the Presidential Elections in November 2019.

The Colombo Additional Magistrate ordered for Dr. Senaratne to be released on two sureties of Rs. 500,000 each.
