Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) leader MP Mano Ganeshan yesterday said President Maithripala Sirisena has stated that he would resign from Presidency after making a State of the Nation Address, if he was pushed to the wall.
“The President said that if pushed to the wall, he will make a State of the Nation Address, resign from Presidency and get back to his Polonnaruwa farms,” MP Ganeshan said in a tweet.
According to the MP, the President had said this during a meeting on the night of 3 December, when he held discussions with the United National Front (UNF) party leaders.
