The Cabinet has approved Sri Lanka Police’s purchase of 480 motorcycles, each valued at Rs. 322,650, from David Peiris Motor Company Lanka Ltd, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet-Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC)

A decision was made to purchase 480 125cc motorcycles by calling for bids under the National Competitive Bidding Method to improve the capacity of the Police.

This was in keeping with a proposal made in the 2017 Budget. The price of Rs. 322,650 for each motorcycle is inclusive of all taxes.
