Police has deployed two teams to investigate the death of a 34-year-old businessman whose charred remains were found in a burnt-out vehicle in Kohuwala on Wednesday.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said two teams from Kohuwala Police station under the supervision of the Senior Superintended of Police (SSP) Mt. Lavinia have begun investigations of the mysterious death.
The Magisterial inquest in to the death was conducted yesterday by the Acting Magistrate of Mt. Lavinia. The Police has requested the expert opinion of the Government Analyst’s Department to ascertain the cause of the fire and the circumstances of the death.
The autopsy of the deceased will be conducted at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital. DIG Rohana said the Police found the remains on Wednesday night. The deceased has been identified as resident of Kohuwala.
